Advanced FTP Proxy Server
Secure your connections everywhere, anytime

FTP Protocol uses control connection (to send/receive FTP commands, username and password) and data connections (to transfer files and directory listings). Normally both connections haven't any encryption and anyone who has a physical access to network lines potentially can catch username with password and access your FTP account. To protect your information from prohibited access it's necessary to encrypt control (and optionally data) connection. The best way is to use a standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol that also uses to protect all Internet payments.

Encryption feature of Advanced FTP Proxy Server allows to accept 4 types of FTP connections:

  1. Standard FTP (no encryption)
  2. SSL control channel (only commands are encrypted)
  3. SSL control and data channels (all data are encrypted)
  4. Our own encryption of username and password (encrypt only username and password)
You can enable or disable acceptance of any of these connections. Our industry-leading backup software (EaseBackup and 123Backup) support all types of secure FTP connections.

In addition, any FTP client that can establish an Implicit SSL connection to FTP Server can use this feature.  Some of them are: Cute FTP Pro 2.0, FTP Voyager 9.0, IglooFTP Pro 3.2 and Java-based Secure FTP.
