To move EaseBackup to a different computer you have to:
- In EaseBackup, go to the "File > Disaster Recovery Wizard"
- In the window "Save or restore repair information", select
"I want to save configuration and encryption keys".
- Follow the instructions to save the backup data
To get backup set configurations from an existing store of backup data:
- Install the latest version of EaseBackup
- In EaseBackup, go to the "File > Disaster Recovery Wizard"
- In the window "Save or restore repair information", select
"I want to restore configuration and encryption keys".
- Follow the instructions to select the backup data and find configuration
files.
- Select the most recent dirs.dat file.
- A confirmation page will appear before restoring.
Note: Existing backup set configurations will be over-written!
- Apply your registration key.
As a result you will have all your Backup Sets and encryption keys. If you need
to restore files, do it as usual. But all backups will be full at
the first time (Because repair information does not have big local catalog
files you need to do incremental backups). If you do not want to do full
backups again you have to copy "C:\Program Files\EB\Catalogs" or "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Kiesoft\EaseBackup\Catalogs" folder from
the sourse to the target computer.
But do not delete any files from your sourse computer until you are not sure
that everything was moved OK.
