Backup Set Concept
123Backup is organized around a Backup Set. Choose one of the following articles for quick start

A Backup Set is the heart of the 123Backup program. By setting them, you can get full control on your backups, and customize backup options to your own needs. A Backup Set contains the parameters of the backup, and includes:

  1. Which data to backup: definition of source files.
  2. Where to backup: definition of the backup archive.
  3. Schedule properties: Automatic backup

123Backup features the ability to create an infinite number of Backup Sets.

Before any backup operation is started, you must define a Backup Set by specifying above parameters. You may also specify optional controlling parameters to make a Backup more flexible and versatile.

To restore your files after a disaster, you have to re-create your Backup Sets. That can be done manually, but much more easy to recover them from repair information. That's why, we recommend you to use Repair Wizard to save repair information that contains definition of all existing Backup Sets.
